Our home

Our apartment is in a new building with luxury facilities like, a gym, indoor swimming  pool, sauna and steam room,  Underground parking is included with an additional storage locker.

We have three bedrooms (hopefully, for visitors, hint, hint) dining room, living room, kitchen and 2 full bathrooms.

We now have internet and cable with a few English channels.  I am going to have to find another way to view Downton Abby when it returns as it isn't on a channel we pick up.

We have magic jack with a USA number but it suddenly quit working during a phone call today.  A friend is going to stop over this evening to see if he can do anything to fix it.

We had a tough time getting our internet to work as we are handicapped in the Spanish Language at this time.  We have a land line here but whenever someone calls I make Bob answer it as he knows more Spanish than I do.

Here's some pictures of our apt. building and our apartment.

Master suite and closet - all bedrooms have same closet space

Bob at desk, living room to right with glass sliding doors
                                               to a very small patio.

Our kitchen has granite counter tops - stove, oven and refrigerator.
Laundry room with washer and dryer at one end of the kitchen
separated by a 1/2 wall.  Very convenient.

We have a great coffee shop around the
                                                      corner from the apartment building.

Open air seating - good coffee

We have signed all our paper work with our attorney for our retirement visas.  The next step will be for us to go to Quito (the capital of Ecuador) to obtain our Cedula's which will make us residents of Ecuador.  That will be sometime in mid July.

We did visit the El Centro area of Cuenca - Parque Abdon Calderon - on Sunday
and attended Mass at the New Cathedral .  How awesome to see the church filled with standing room only.  The Cathedral was built to accommodate 7000 people. I didn't understand the homily (Spanish) but it sounded good.

Then a city tour to see some of the different areas.

We stopped at a small open air market and purchased some vegetables .  Four large tomatoes, 1 green, 1 red pepper and 2 cucumbers for $1.00.  No chemicals added.

Tomorrow we hope to venture to the very large outdoor market.  Photos to follow.
