Stuff......

Sunday, Corpus Christi Celebration at the new Cathedral.  Many Kiosks out and around the Parke Calderon, right across the road from the church in El Centro, selling religious items, sweet treats and other trinkets.  Very busy area with tons of people. The goodies look so tempting.

We did buy a couple of pieces from this display.

There are about 130 stands surrounding the Cathedral - all with goodies to eat!

Went to a brunch at a Gringo restaurant  with friends from Phoenix that are in EC on vacation and in Cuenca for a few days.  We had a wonderful time visiting with them as Ecuador is one of 3 places they are looking at for retirement.  Thank you again, Paul and Nan for a great day of visiting.

                                                      Name of the restaurant

                                                        Courtyard

Monday had us up early for an appointment with our attorney who did help us acquire a savings account.  No other type of account until we have our residency. CD's make 5+% for a min. of $500.
The location of the office and bank were El Centro (center of town) so we walked around
and took some pictures and enjoyed the beautiful day.

                                               Enjoyed coffee and a treat

                                                      Nice coffee shop

                                                  Random shots of downtown

                                                               Lunch (almuerzo)

                                                     Soup (potato?) with popcorn and
                                                 strawberry juice, freshly juiced.

                                                                 Rice, chicken and salad

                                                     Mango in cream sauce
Total cost for lunch?  $3.00 each,
                                                        and it was very good

After lunch we decided to walk around and check out an open market of mostly dry goods like tablecloths, scarves, jackets and scarves.

We did purchase a tablecloth - bargaining is really fun!
                                                  Another good day in Cuenca!
