I have waited all week to go to the famous market in Cuenca, I say famous because Bob has talked about this place for 2 years. Now I understand why!
Raw chickens
Avocados
cuts of beef, pork and chicken
Needed some fresh squeezed OJ
I am certain we walked 2 miles around the market - we walked and walked then just before we couldn't walk any more we made our purchases. Next time we won't have to walk the entire area to find what we need - sort of got the lay of the land this time.
Tomorrow, the BIG Mall del Rio. Hope I can walk by then.
It was the most overwhelmed I have ever been. The market is fresh fruits, veggies in one part and more of a flea market in the other part. It must cover an entire mile or more.
Here are some pictures we took:
Raw chickens
Beautiful flowers
Pineapples |
Avocados
Bananas |
cuts of beef, pork and chicken
More beef |
FROZEN - in Spanish |
Needed some fresh squeezed OJ
Even yarn at the flea market |
Here's what we bought for $7.00
7 tomatoes, bag of carrots, 4 limes, 3 bell peppers
1/2 lb white corn, 2 potatoes, 1 red onion, fresh ginger,
1 papaya
and a bouquet of 3 long stemmed roses with baby's breath
and greens.

Fabulous pics. Food looks so fresh. Love the way you describe things. Have you tried the meat or chicken?
ReplyDeleteTried both and both were good - I had no problem with either, tasted the same as in the US.
DeleteThe yarn looks, so incredibly colorful. Do your fingers just ache to knit something?
ReplyDeleteI'm still knitting socks for winter but I think I'll switch to something else very soon :)
